Two people bitten by possible rabid raccoon in Old Town Alexandria: VDH

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — The Alexandria Health Department (AHD) is warning residents in the Old Town area to be careful after two people were bitten by a raccoon.

On March 3, two people reported to Alexandria Animal Control that a raccoon had bitten them in the Old Town neighborhood in the North Henry Street, North Patrick Street and Cameron Street areas.

Because of the aggressive behavior shown by the raccoon it is believed that it may have had rabies.
