Babysitter charged in Fayetteville wreck that killed unsecured infant

A 55-year-old Fayetteville babysitter has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a infant boy who was riding unrestrained in her vehicle when she allegedly ran a stop light in January.

Court records show that Angie Marlene McNeill, of Douglas Street, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, three counts of felony negligent child abuse causing serious bodily injury, multiple child passenger restraint violations and running a red light.

According to the charging document, 8½-month-old Mace Junior Thomas was riding on the lap of a 15-year-old boy in the front passenger seat of McNeill’s 2010 Infiniti SUV when she allegedly ran a red light on Morganton Road just after 8 a.m. Jan. 16…
