HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Sheriff Bruce Vanoven provided updates on an investigation involving allegations of missing evidence.
According to the sheriff, the allegations came from a claim on social media after a former employee claimed several weapons were missing from the evidence room in 2025 and said that they were, “sweeping these missing weapons under the rug.” The sheriff says the employee was fired after lying during an internal investigation that began before August 2025.
Vanoven says the weapons were taken as evidence during a previous case involving a victim of a crime involving a firearm on December 4, 2013. Vanoven says they were then returned to its owner on November 6, 2014…
