LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — A scholarship has been created in honor of Captain Cody Khork, who was among six U.S. service members killed during a drone strike in Kuwait.
Khork, 35, grew up in Winter Haven and attended classes at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. The college now has an option for donors to give to the “Captain Cody A. Khork Scholarship.”

“A Political Science major and member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Cody was known among his classmates, professors, and friends for his leadership, character, and commitment to serving others,” the college said in a statement following news of Khork’s death.
