DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. — Officials in northeast Indiana are alerting residents to a data breach that may have compromised personal information.
The DeKalb County Board of County Commissioners announced Friday that they were made aware of unusual activity on their network last September. Further investigation determined information that was maintained on the network may have been copied by an unauthorized individual sometime between Aug. 21 and Sept. 25 of last year.
A notice posted on the county’s website said the information that was copied may include a person’s name, along with their Social Security number, driver’s license number or identification card number and/or their financial account number.
