KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The West family — known for a number of businesses in downtown Knoxville and Market Square — is bringing a new entertainment concept across the river to South Knoxville.
First reported by Blank News and Inside of Knoxville, the Wests purchased the former Everything Mushrooms building earlier this week for $2 million. Their new concept will be called Buffleheads, named after the small duck native to this region, known for its colorful, fluffy head. The name came from Bernadette West because of her curly, purple hair.
“My wife, she has a fluffy, brightly colored head, and she swims really well, just like a bufflehead duck,” said Scott West, co-owner of the new business. “So the name of this place will become Buffleheads.”…
