State resolves Memphian’s claim after pothole damages car

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – After Action News 5 spoke with a man who says a pothole did expensive damage to his car, he’s seeing some payoff to the tune of nearly $90.

Saafir Muhammad says he hit a pothole on Airways Boulevard at East Parkway in Memphis, which caused his tire to blow.

Muhammad tried to file a damages claim with the City of Memphis, but he was deferred to TDOT because East Parkway is a state road.

TDOT then deferred Muhammad to the Tennessee Department of Treasury’s Division of Claims and Risk Management…
