A Leesburg woman was arrested for trespassing after being tased for refusing to leave the parking lot of The Chill Pub.
A deputy responded to The Chill Pub, located at 11240 Northern Ave., Leesburg, regarding 38-year-old Melinda Dawn Petty trespassing in the parking lot at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
The complainant advised that several days prior, Petty had been told to leave the property after being seen sleeping in front of the business with multiple bags of personal belongings. The property owner demanded she remove herself and her things, or law enforcement would be contacted to formally trespass her, the report said.
The deputy subsequently met Petty in the parking lot near her belongings. She was told multiple times that she was not allowed to stay on the property, and the property owner did not want her on the premises.
