Spring weekend ahead!

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Good Friday afternoon everyone. Not much has changed in our forecast from yesterday…

As we spoke about yesterday, a marine layer is causing clouds and fog concerns in the evenings and mornings. Not everyone saw the marine layer last night, but it was particularly thick from PCB all the way over to Pensacola to the west. The marine layer has lifted out quickly today allowing for more sunshine earlier in the day on the coast today. That may not be the case though heading into the weekend; some if not most, will have the marine layer of fog and clouds lingering longer through the morning.

REST OF TODAY: Mostly sunny skies for the coast today with highs near 73 on the sandy shore to near 78 around the bays or just off the immediate coastal waters. Inland areas will see fair weather clouds through the afternoon turning skies partly to mostly cloudy, especially up north of Hwy20 where we could see a return of some scattered showers or thunderstorms. Not everyone sees it inland with rain chance at 30% by 3pm, waning as storms shift north into Alabama and Georgia into the early evening…
