Gulf Boulevard is about to get a fresh spot to sip kava and espresso. Banyan Breeze, a new kava bar and cafe, is gearing up to open at 16907 Gulf Boulevard in North Redington Beach. The compact storefront is set to pair traditional kava with coffee, espresso, teas and fresh local juices in a neighborhood-focused setting. There is still no official opening date, but the team says the finish line is in sight and expects to welcome customers in the coming weeks.
Owner Says ‘We Are Getting So Close’
The crew behind Banyan Breeze has been using Instagram to show off progress, recently posting that “We are getting so close.” Owner Hailey Rank told WhatNow that while they have not nailed down an exact opening date, the shop should debut “sometime in the coming weeks.”
Rank told the outlet the space will “serve kava, excellent coffee and espresso, teas, and fresh local juices” with an emphasis on a community hangout vibe. She added that she has worked in kava bars for 14 years, starting back when Bula was one of the only options in the area. For now, the team’s Instagram account remains the main source of updates as they wrap up buildout and wait on inspections.
Company Filings Show Local Roots
State business filings list Banyan Breeze LLC as an active Florida company formed in February 2025 and name Hailey A. Rank and Travis D. Rank as managers, according to state business records. Those records show a Largo mailing address for the company’s principals, while the Gulf Boulevard address is listed as the public storefront. Incorporating last year gave the team time to get the space ready for a neighborhood cafe and kava bar.
Why Kava Fits Here
Kava cafes have been part of the Tampa Bay mix for years, with spots such as Bula Kavananda and Bula Kafe helping build demand for alcohol-free, community-centered hangouts. Roundups of coffee and coffee-adjacent shops show that kava and coffee hybrids have already found an audience across Pinellas County, giving newcomers a built-in scene to join, according to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. For locals who prefer a low-key spot to work, meet up or wind down, Banyan Breeze’s kava and espresso combo tracks with what is already popular in the region…
