When a restaurant starts talking about nixtamalization and housemade masa tortillas, they get our attention. Con Amor, a modern Mexican restaurant that just opened in Tampa, has officially piqued our interest.
The new spot opened in February at 5240 N Florida Ave, on the ground level at Avenue Lofts, and it is quickly moving to the top of our list. You can try out the highly-rated restaurant beginning at 3 pm every Tuesday-Sunday.
We haven’t yet been in to try out Con Amor, but the early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, and the pictures they’ve posted are legitimately mouthwatering. Beyond the recs and aesthetics, it’s what Con Amor is doing that has drawn us. The fresh-milled masa and handmade tortillas are enough to get us in the door alone, and those margaritas look more than refreshing enough to keep us in our seats for a few rounds.
The menu at Con Amor features plenty of traditional favorites, such as queso, tacos, and quesadillas.
