H-E-B now owns dozens of vacant properties across North Texas..
According to a previous Star-Telegram report, the Texas grocery giant has said it regularly buys land to add to its real estate portfolio without having plans to build stores on it.
Most recently, the San Antonio-based company bought five additional acres next to an already purchased 17-acre site on the south side of East Bonds Ranch Road, next to U.S. 287. This now 22-acre site is only three miles north of the only H-E-B in Fort Worth that opened in 2024…
