Greene County jury finds man guilty of setting mobile home on fire

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — After a three-day trial in Greene County Circuit Court, a jury found Jose Morales guilty of first-degree arson for intentionally setting a mobile home on fire while people were inside in 2024.

Morales was also charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, but the jury found him not guilty.

Morales is scheduled to be sentenced on May 27, 2026. A first-degree arson conviction carries a sentence of 5 to 15 years in state prison…
