The Mt. Vernon school district is facing a lawsuit from a former custodian seeking damages for wrongful dismissal.
The suit was filed in Lawrence County Circuit Court before Presiding Judge David Cole by Roger Brown of Mt. Vernon, through his attorneys Timothy Ricker and Adam Pihana, both of Springfield, part of the Hall Ansley legal firm. Brown demanded a jury trial. The school district has not responded or had an attorney of record declared.
Superintendent Christina West issued the following statement: “The District is aware of the lawsuit that has been filed by a former employee. The District cannot comment on pending litigation.”…
