ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – New snowfall in the Anchorage area resulted in a long traffic backup Friday afternoon on the Glenn Highway.
Traffic was at a near standstill on the highway to almost Merrill Field, with numerous cars reportedly in the ditch.
Dozens of vehicles were reported in incident by the Anchorage Police Department, which put out an alert shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday pleading for motorists to use caution when driving on the Glenn and Seward highways. Police told the public to expect delays as conditions were expected to worsen due to the snow.
