Medina looks to increase wages for seasonal park workers

MEDINA, Ohio – Council’s finance committee has approved a motion that will amend the city’s pay scale for seasonal park employees in an effort to attract more workers.

“We typically have 20 to 25 seasonal employees that we hire every year around April and some of them stay through November to provide essential services for our park department and support events on the square and at our parks,” Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrley said. “There are around 110 events on our square, a little more than 200 pavilion rentals each year and we maintain 185 acres of park land.”
