Cobb homeless count finds 448 people in camps, emergency shelters

Volunteers counted 157 people living outside in Cobb County’s 2026 homeless count, with nearly 300 more staying in short-term shelters.

The number of homeless people outside was lower than in the last count, in 2024, but the number in emergency shelters was higher. That’s likely due to the sub-freezing temperatures on Jan. 29, the night of the count.
