MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are investigating a shooting outside a Memphis seafood restaurant on Friday afternoon that left one man injured during his birthday celebration, officials say.
Officers were called to a restaurant in the 2800 block of Covington Pike around 3:40 p.m. where they found a large group of people who told police a man had been shot and had ran across the street to a health clinic, according to the report.
Police say officers found the victim, but he told them nothing had happened and that he did not get shot at. The victim told police he wanted to leave and that “he wasn’t a part of anything,” according to the report.
One dead, one charged after shooting on Park Avenue
Police say they later found the victim and his family at a nearby business. Officers spoke to the victim’s uncle who told them they were at Captain King’s Seafood City celebrating the victim’s birthday. According to the police report, he also told officers the victim has a “mental disability.”…
