300 volunteers package 50,000 meals at Richmond’s Second Baptist Church to fight global hunger

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — About 300 volunteers gathered at Second Baptist Church in Richmond on Saturday morning to package tens of thousands of meals in support of global hunger relief.

From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 7, volunteers from Second Baptist Church`s congregation partnered with nonprofit organization Rise Against Hunger to package over 50,000 meals for people facing hunger.

“These local volunteers will truly be helping to make a global impact as the nutritious meals will then be shipped by Rise Against Hunger to people facing hunger around the world,” organizers said.
