BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – A driver was flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a crash Saturday, March 7, according to Bedford Fire Department.
Firefighters responded at 12:09 p.m. to reports of a crash on the 3800 block of Big Island Highway. A vehicle was found with heavy damage, off the roadway, and overturned, with the driver trapped inside, according to firefighters.
After a 20 minute extraction, the driver was removed, placed into a stokes basket, and brought to street level by a haul system, according to firefighters.
