Several athletes from South Texas News–area high schools earned top finishes Thursday at the Texas Women’s High School Powerlifting Association’s Region 5 Class 3A Division II Championships at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg.
Lifters from George West, Karnes City, Taft and Odem competed against a strong regional field, with multiple athletes finishing among the top three in their weight classes.
