Iowa City Schools says governor’s ‘MAHA’ bill requirements come without enough funding

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa City Community School District is pushing back against a state bill that would add new health-related requirements to public schools, saying the district cannot meet those mandates without additional funding.

House File 2676, known as the governor’s “Make America Healthy Again” bill, includes a range of health-related provisions, among them, over-the-counter access to ivermectin and restrictions on purchasing unhealthy foods with SNAP benefits.
