Review: Cedar Rapids Animal Care adds 7 positions, upgrades systems, plans changes

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The City of Cedar Rapids has released an independent operational review of Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control that affirms the city’s in-house operating model and outlines recommendations to modernize services and support long-term sustainability.

The assessment, conducted by Matrix Consulting Group, included site visits, staff interviews, stakeholder engagement, peer-agency comparisons and community input gathered through surveys and focus groups.

The report evaluates staffing, facility conditions, operational procedures, community engagement and enforcement activities.
