Omaha restaurant loses Friday lunch rush to 3-hour power outage

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A three-hour power outage Friday morning shut down lunch prep at Paddy McGown’s restaurant in Omaha’s Robin Hill neighborhood, costing staff a full Friday lunch rush.

The outage began around 7:50 a.m., according to owner Dan Emsick.

“There was a loud pop in the neighborhood and everything went dark about 7:50 this morning…so I was pretty confused,” Emsick said.

Lost prep time, lost tips

Staff arrived at 9 a.m. with no power and nothing to do. For servers who rely on tips, the lost shift means income they will not recover…
