Andover residents report text scam to police

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Andover police say they have taken several reports of residents receiving text messages telling them to pay a fine.

The department said scammers are posing as the Andover Municipal Court and telling residents they must pay court fees immediately via text message. Police are reminding residents that the court will never contact you over text message.

They recommend blocking the sender and reporting it as spam on your phone. You can also report the scam message to the Kansas Attorney General’s Office at at 888-428-8336…
