Woodburn teacher union says strike not inevitable as bargaining moves toward mediation

The Woodburn School District and the Woodburn teachers union is set to enter mediation as contract negotiations approach the one-year mark.

Mediation between the district and the Woodburn Education Association, which represents roughly 350 licensed K-12 educators, will begin March 31. This move comes amid disagreements between the two parties over pay, class size limits, workload and immigration protocols.
