Cameron Carr no longer owns the historic Homewood deli O’Carr’s, which he and his wife, June, opened in 1975 and sold three years ago to new owner Kenneth Rhodes, but he was one of the first to find out that Rhodes planned to rescue Savage’s Bakery across the street.
“I was in O’Carr’s for lunch the other day and Kenneth came in and divulged to us that he had made this deal with Van Scott, so I heard about it about a week before the announcement, but I was surprised, to say the least,” Carr said.
