Chattanooga native with Stargardt’s disease finds hope through new vision technology

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — According to the CDC, seven million people in the United States have vision impairment.

With March being Save Your Vision Month, we spoke with Liz Baker, a Chattanooga native, about some of the challenges she faced and the impact new technology has on her recovery journey.

“I sat a little close in the classrooms, just so that I could see. And then when I was a freshman at the University of Georgia, I had a steep decline in my vision, and it became more 20/200 acuity, and that is where I actually started to have challenges in terms of reading textbooks, seeing, recognizing faces, seeing boards, really, everything that requires detailed vision, said Liz Baker, Chattanooga native, diagnosed with Stargardt’s Disease.”…
