Pomfret Man Charged with Burglary

A Pomfret resident was arrested on a burglary charge following a report of an alleged larceny Friday afternoon. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on North Road in the Town of Pomfret shortly after 12:15 PM. Through investigation, it was found that 39-year-old Jacob Tye had allegedly remained inside a building unlawfully, and had additionally taken property that did not belong to him. Tye was arrested and charged with 3rd-degree burglary, 2nd-degree obstructing governmental administration, and petit larceny. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail and is being held on $15,000 bail.
