No injuries in early morning fire on Edgewater Avenue

FORT WAYNE, IN (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to an early morning fire northeast of Downtown Fort Wayne.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire on Sunday morning shortly after 3 a.m. on the 1000 block of Edgewater Avenue. A WANE 15 crew member saw five FWFD trucks along with FWPD and TRAA assisting at the scene.

The house was under renovation and empty at the time of the fire, and therefore, no one was injured. When arriving on the scene, firefighters attempted to make entry through the front of the house but were pushed back by intense heat and flames. Crews had the fire on the first and second floors under control within about 30 minutes. There were no working smoke detectors…
