FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The third of four men charged with murder for a fatal shooting in 2023 has been found guilty.
Friday, a jury found 21-year-old Christopher Recht guilty of murder, attempted murder, battery by means of a deadly weapon, and criminal organization activity with a firearm involved, as well as a firearm sentence enhancement.
These charges stem from the September 2023 fatal shooting of Ayvion Parker, who was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, with his younger brother next to him, who had been shot in the leg.
After several witnesses described the events of that night to the police, both Recht and his accomplice, 20-year-old Terrance Sanders Jr., were arrested under the same charges. Sanders Jr. was handed his sentence in September 2025 and will spend 115 years in prison.
