Hopewell citizens got their first look at the five finalists to be the next city manager March 5, and while the ones who attended the public meeting seemed pleased overall with the opportunity to do so, some folks wish they could make the ultimate choice instead of City Council.
“I think we ought to have a vote,” longtime resident Gino Cortese said. “A citizen should have, you know, a vote for our city manager, just like we do our council members.”
