BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ) – Parents of students at Bedford Elementary School have launched a petition demanding additional safety measures at the school, citing concerns about a Hampton Inn under construction nearby.
The hotel will have a direct line of sight to the school and its playground. Ashley Meadows, a mother of a Bedford Elementary student, said the visibility amounts to a form of access.
“There’s a complete visual from that hotel to that school,” Meadows said. “Visualization is like, it’s access too. It’s more access than they should be granted, than anybody should be granted to a public school and to our kids.”…
