Archbishop Hicks makes Staten Island debut as St. Teresa’s marks 100 years

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Most Rev. Ronald A. Hicks, the newly installed Archbishop of New York, made his first visit to Staten Island on Saturday as the Church of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus celebrated its 100th anniversary.

St. Teresa’s, founded in 1926, marked its centennial with a Mass and a gathering of current and former parishioners.

Hicks, who has been in New York for four and a half weeks, told parishioners he is following a 100-day plan to meet communities across the archdiocese—and made sure Staten Island was included.
