Police: Three Charged In Daylight Shootout

Three people have been charged following a daytime shooting in Wilmington that left two individuals wounded.

Police responded at approximately 12:10 p.m. on March 4 to the unit block of Cedar Street after receiving reports of gunfire. Officers arriving at the scene located 54-year-old Brian Ringgold suffering from a gunshot wound. Ringgold was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Officers also found 29-year-old Kaishira Burton, who had been struck by gunfire and was transported to a hospital in stable condition. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Officials said the investigation was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Wilmington Police Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators determined Burton had shot Ringgold during the incident, after which Ringgold returned fire and struck Burton…
