Dozens take the Polar Plunge in Cedar Rapids for Special Olympics Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Dozens of people took the plunge Saturday afternoon in Cedar Rapids to support Special Olympics Iowa during the annual Cedar Rapids–Iowa City Polar Plunge.

The event was held at Keller Williams Legacy Group and marked the first time in about a decade the Polar Plunge returned to Cedar Rapids after previously being held in Coralville.

Participants jumped into Special Olympics Iowa’s mobile “polar plunge trailer,” a portable pool designed to bring the fundraising event to communities across the state. About 50 people were expected to participate, either plunging into the cold water, volunteering, or raising money as supporters…
