Suzanne Stevens at KRIS 6 News says a traffic stop from last spring is getting a second life – not in a courtroom, but online – after body camera footage out of Corpus Christi spread rapidly and sparked fresh questions about use of force, escalation, and what “probable cause” really looks like in the real world.
The driver at the center of it is Jacob Miller, who Stevens identifies as a local man employed with Lennar. Miller says he was headed to work when he was pulled over on the city’s Southside, and what happened next – an arrest, a takedown, and two taser deployments – left him feeling like he came close to dying.
The stop is now being talked about at City Hall, in online comment sections, and in the kind of nervous conversations people have after they watch a video and think, If that was me, what would I have done differently?
