Seafood joints are busier than ever on Fridays during Lent in New Orleans, and Williby’s Catfish is no exception.
Customers line up outside before the Gentilly takeout shop opens for the day next to Dillard University, and most leave with multiple cartons stacked high. Crisp, batter-clung fried fins jut out of some of those cartons, an indication of the whole fried catfish inside.
