WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The American Red Cross held a disaster training exercise on Saturday to prepare volunteers to respond to emergencies in the community.
Sara Magnasco, a Community Disaster Program Manager with the American Red Cross, explained why the organization needs so many volunteers.
“The American Red Cross actually responds to a home fire every eight minutes in the United States. So we are waking up in the middle of the night. We’re out there in the middle of the day to help anybody who’s been affected,” Magnasco said…
