HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two friends are putting a Brazilian spin on Japanese sushi dishes while creating community in Kahuku.
Samara Freitas and Leticia Bonfiglioli started their food truck Babadi Sushi after years of working together at Jerry’s Pizza in Waialua. It gave them the experience and relationship to build something unique and of their own. The two joined HNN’s Sunrise to talk about their small business.
Bonfiglioli said Brazil has the largest Japanese community outside of Japan and she missed the sushi she had growing up there and taught herself how to make it. She began creating rolls for her and Freitas to try…
