A man and woman were taken into custody in what authorities described as a thwarted attempt to provide narcotics to inmates in the Los Angeles County jail system.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Custody Services Division launched an investigation into the smuggling of contraband into the jail via the US Postal Service. The Organized Gang Task Force of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at Hermosa Beach, a southern seaside hamlet.
