LAPD investigates report of explosives found in car in downtown LA

A report of explosives in a car prompted a police investigation in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, but officers found no explosives, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed to NBC4 Investigates.

According to LAPD, a response was initiated after a person called the U.S Secret Service, reporting to alert officials of explosives in a car near the intersection of West 5th and Figueroa Streets. After receiving the report, the agency alerted LAPD of the call, prompting the department to investigate.
