Four people were hospitalized after an eight-vehicle pileup shut down Interstate 75 near the Sumter-Marion County Line.
The crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday when a 66-year-old Irvine, Kentucky man was driving a white 2008 Lincoln utility vehicle northbound on I-75 near Mile Marker 335 and failed to slow down for traffic ahead of him, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He crashed into a vehicle ahead of him, setting in motion a chain-reaction collision.
