Spring Break crowds arrive as police increase patrols in Padre Island

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Spring break is officially underway, with the first wave of visitors hitting the beaches this weekend. Law enforcement is also out in full force, patrolling to keep everyone safe.

Thousands of people are heading to the beach to relax and have some fun. But if that fun gets out of hand, Port Aransas Police Chief James Stokes says they’ll be watching.

Stokes said around 150,000 people will visit the beach city in just two weeks, and law enforcement always sees the same issues…
