El Paso mom allegedly drove drunk, crashed with 6-year-old son in car

An El Paso mother was allegedly driving drunk with her 6-year-old son in the back seat when she fell asleep and crashed into multiple cars, court documents state.

El Paso County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jennifer Vivar, 36, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age after she crashed into parked cars about 4:10 a.m. on March 1, near Sparks, sheriff’s spokeswoman Priscilla I. Contreras stated in a news release.

Vivar’s 6-year-old son was in the back seat of her vehicle, was not properly secured in a car seat and suffered minor injuries in the crash, the news release states. Vivar allegedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.161, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 in Texas…
