CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Area Transit System is set to begin construction on a new Blue Line light rail station in the South End neighborhood.
The station, located between Remount Road and Tremont Drive, will anchor one of the city’s densest transit-oriented development zones with a fully accessible platform, improved pedestrian infrastructure and a new Rail Trail connection.
Construction is scheduled to begin later this month. CATS has hired a contractor to handle the first major phase, track and systems work, which will run from spring 2026 through spring 2027.
