BELMONT, N.C. — The sounds of falling pins and disco-era hits filled the air on Saturday as Holy Angels hosted its 34th annual Angel Bowl, a special adaptive bowling event that brings the local community together to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This year’s event, themed “That ‘70s Bowl,” served a dual purpose: celebrating the 70th anniversary of Holy Angels while channeling “groovy vibes” to hopefully raise $150,000.
Held on the Holy Angels campus, the event featured more than 80 residents participating in a sport tailored to their unique needs. Using specially designed, hand-crafted tabletop bowling lanes, residents competed alongside their families and supporters in an environment transformed by festive lights and music.
