Driver speeding on the Lloyd Expressway arrested for DUI

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Evansville Police say a woman was arrested after allegedly driving while intoxicated and speeding on the Lloyd Expressway on Sunday evening.

According to an affidavit, just after 6 p.m., EPD officers pulled over a vehicle traveling 82mph in a posted 50 mph zone and identified the driver as Abbey Clark of Evansville. Officers say they saw a child in the back seat of the vehicle and noticed the strong smell of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Officers then attempted to complete standardized field sobriety testing, and say Clark showed multiple signs of impairment.

Clark was then arrested, and the child’s father was able to pick him up. According to the affidavit, during a search of Clark’s vehicle, officers found an open container of vodka in the center console, as well as two other smaller empty vodka bottles. Police say Clark agreed to take a chemical test at the jail, and a certified breath test showed her Alcohol Concentration Level to be .203.

Clark faces several charges, including Operating while intoxicated with a passenger under 18, Reckless Driving, Neglect of a dependent, and Operating with an ACE of .15 or more…
