SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a suspicious package Sunday night.
Deputies responded to the Ingles located at 2375 Chesnee Highway at 9:30 p.m. after store employees reported discovering a suspicious package outside the building. Upon arrival, they found a sealed bottle containing a clear liquid that was warm to the touch. Out of an abundance of caution, the Spartanburg County Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Team was requested to respond and assist with the investigation.
After evaluating the item, HAZMAT personnel determined that the contents of the bottle were common cleaning products. Authorities confirmed that the substance did not pose a threat to the public and that there was no evidence of criminal intent related to the item being left at the location…
