A Central Florida man was convicted of carjacking and murder after he ran a red light, crashed and launched another vehicle into the air that flipped several times. After a three-day trial, a Volusia County jury found defendant Latravius Jacobs guilty as charged of First-Degree Murder, Vehicular Homicide, Carjacking, and Burglary of a Conveyance.
On December 14, 2023, Jacobs stole a vehicle from a man while armed with a gun in the parking lot of a Daytona Beach motel.
